Dr Ruth Mansell was born and raised in Northern Ireland. She moved to the UK to study dentistry and she graduated from Cardiff University, Wales in 2010. She completed her Dental Foundation Training in Exeter, Co Devon. Her passion for oral surgery and working with anxious patients took her to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. Ruth spent a year there working with the Oral and Maxillofacial team, increasing her skills in difficult extractions, biopsies, intravenous sedation, general anaesthetics, minor and major facial trauma and oncology cases. During this year she completed her Diploma with the Joint Dental Faculties, Royal College of Surgeons England.
Ruth and her husband decided to make the move out to Australia and have never looked back. Ruth adores the climate here, the beautiful coastlines and nearby cities. She loves to surf and kayak in her spare time and has recently completed her Open Water Dive Course.
Sam joined Fresh Dental Care in 2016 and with nearly 10 years of experience in dentistry, he brings a wide range of experience to the team, from working in both the UK and Australia. He graduated from the University of Sheffield, UK in 2009 and subsequently worked in the NHS for two years, during which he attained the prestigious membership to the Joint Dental Faculties, Royal College of Surgeons UK.
Since moving to Australia in 2012, Sam has worked in a number of practices in the Sydney region and subsequently moved to Coffs Harbour to enjoy our better lifestyle. Dr Brothill’s philosophy with patients is to try and make dentistry as pleasant and gentle an experience as possible, with an emphasis on clear communication and patient education. He is devoted to treat all his patients to the highest standard of care and enjoys all aspects of dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, Sam is either busy looking after his little baby boy or enjoying our beautiful Australian beaches. Additionally, he is a keen CrossFitter, a full time chef at home and an enthusiastic photographer.
Ben moved from the UK to Australia, with his wife Ruth, back in 2012.
After graduating from Cardiff University in 2009 he was accepted into the dental foundation training scheme in his home county Devon. There he spent a busy year in practice working with medically compromised and anxious patients.
His training and passion for oral surgery took him to Derriford Hospital, the designated trauma centre in the region. Ben spent two years working with the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, developing his oral surgery skills and gained invaluable experience dealing with major trauma and oncology cases. This training was the perfect preparation for his Diploma with the Joint Dental Faculties, Royal College of Surgeons of England, achieved in 2011.
Ben uses his surgical skills that he has gained and developed them further to include placing implants, and bone grafting when necessary.

Fresh Dental Care provides a Dental Therapist at each of our locations. A therapist treats people under the age of 18 years. A therapist is trained in most aspects of dental care for young children and teenagers in the dental environment and assists with healthy food options and oral hygiene instruction for parents. Fresh Dental Care offers special rates for some dental treatments when you book your child in with a dental therapist.
